When members of a highly successful band likeSlipknotform another band, critics are quick to label the new group a “side project.”
After three Grammy nominations, two gold-certified albums, and several packed tours since their debut in 2002, guitaristJosh Randisn’t worried aboutStone Sourliving in another band’s shadow. a Des Moines, Iowa native, said he never expected the band, or his
life, to develop the way it has.
“When me andCorey TaylorstartedStone Sour,
I didn’t think it would grow into what it is. If you had told me 10
years ago when we were at his grandma’s house cutting vocals to‘Get Inside’that we would have this conversation 10 years later, I wouldn’t have believed it,” Rand said.

Slipknot/Stone SourfrontmanCorey Taylorhas told Bryan Reesman of theAttention Deficit Deliriumthat
he is working on a book about the Seven Deadly Sins. “I just finished
writing it, and it’s being edited right now,” Taylor said. “We’re
hoping to get it out by the spring of next year. It’s about the Seven
Deadly Sins and my take on them and how I don’t think they’re sins at
all. They’re human characteristics. They’re just human flaws and things
that we all experience, yet because we all deal with them we’re all
doomed? Screw you. To me, it’s just part of being human, and it’s me
making the case for that and saying that you can go through all of
these things and at the end of the day you can still be a good person.
I’m telling stories from my past and balancing humor with serious, dark
stuff. I’m really excited about it.”
He added, “I’m very proud of the fact I didn’t have a ghostwriter. I wrote it myself, so if it sucks you know who to blame.”
According to Taylor, the book will published by Da Capo Press.
